Before you say you did it wrong i have built many pcs and laptops not a noob
Going from a dual core too a quad core in a laptop major upgrade the laptop runs faster but drains the battery really fast which is normal is it worth it for the money yes if you know what you are doing and also these cpus are normal to run hot look it up just have a cooling pad on hand
