My only confusion came in the thick rubber pad around the plate mounting screw causing the camera to be at an angle and making the new mounting holes too deep to make contact with a standard tripod mount fixing screws or drings

The second concern was the thickness of the material again i could only get a couple threads to connect with a standard tripod mount fixing screw

It makes an nearly perfect camera the fz1000 almost perfect but it would be better if it was wider and had a better way to attach the side that uses adhesive to attach it because the camera could be wiggly when attached to a tripod or tripod plate

Finally a solution for a painstacking problem

As you can see that’s too off center

It amazes me how they can engineer such fine equipment but miss something this obvious

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

The plate stays attached to camera and over time the plate pivots slightly to fit different camera bodies a form fitting shape would be necessary

Suggest panasonic design in future camera adding another hole in the body base to allow a similar plate to remain rigid by having a peg fit the second hole as is similarly used in mounting video cameras
