Pros & Cons

Pros

Philip k. Morgan’s dystopian world has ageless core elements of humanity and virtues we are familiar with. Morgan mixed equal parts of the lee child's jack reacher books and raymond chandler's the big sleep.

Cons

The novel altered carbon is a huge letdown, so much so that i won't even watch it on netflix.

Takeshi kovacs often tries to discredit me by means of flagrant misquotations. This is a 500 page book that's 200 pages too long. The author employs childish similes every few lines, to add descriptive bulk.

There is just a lot of technobabble that is not explored. There is no exploration of the real possibilities that a millenia-deep incarnational theology might offer a more human way forward.

Pornographic violence. Pornographic sexualized violence. It's * and clumsily written at that. The * scenes read like he plagiarized a * forum.
