After moving the unit into my crawl space, leveling it, and hooking up the condensate drain line. It is placed directly on the floor within reach of a drain.

Cons

Dehumidifier coils now freeze up almost immediately when turned on. Once this happened the humidifier no longer removes moisture from the air. Over the winter, the dehumidifiers mostly sits idle.

Alorair's warranty really is not for 5 years. I expect some items i receive will be defective, so i typically give the company a chance to make it right. Save your self some money, frustration, and time.

Now my only choices are to ship it back to california from wi or find a local hvac company to check it out. I hope this works out well and i either get a repair or another one that works.

So far i am thrilled with the results and quality of the dehumidifier

If your product doesnt qualify for protection then it seems like a crapshoot as if you can even get a refund on your warranty purchase

They are not registered with the bbb and there are two complaints that have been marked as resolved

I bought this unit in part because unlike aprilaire and santa fe you can install this yourself without voiding the warranty
