Pros

Works great on larger circles then smaller circles say under a 2 rad. Actually a gift to my 19 yr. Old son. Good for making precise arcs on engineering paper.

The pencil holder is sturdy, allows for lots of adjustments, and will accept a slightly larger pencil. Setting is crisp and tight. Pencil can be removed to make a very good caliper.

Cons

The finish on it leaves something to be desired. The most glaring issues are to do with the pins that hold the adjusting screw. One of the pins has a large burr from when the hole was drilled.

I bought this to replace a compass that i bought an an art supply store which had a plastic screw to attach the pencil

I actually have several similar ones and thought it was more versatile than mine
