I purchased these to put in 3 ceiling fans that have only candelabra sockets. Lamp wattage is limited for these and the previously available bulbs simply did not light the rooms sufficiently. I may be confusing these bulbs with others, but I recall reading reviews where people said they do not work with 2 bulbs socketed at the same time.Upon initially installing the bulbs I had the same problem where 1 new and 1 old bulb would light, but 2 new bulbs would not. All my fans have ceiling mounted dimmers, in my case all are over 10 years old, and have the included Hunter dimmers that came with the fans. Strangely enough, I found when I pressed the on switch on the dimmer control and held it for around 5 seconds, both bulbs lit perfectly. Simply pressing the on switch as I had with the previous incandescent bulbs did nothing. This was consistent with all 3 installations. There was some flicker initially but it subsided, and all work fine when I dim them.Though the bulbs are not off the charts in terms of overall brightness and probably don't fully live up to spec, they are still noticeably brighter than the previous 40W candelabra bulbs I had so this was a win for me. The color temperature seems to be as advertised, maybe a little whiter but not at all annoying. As far as giving 5 stars on sturdiness - I accidentally dropped one from about 6' on a hardwood floor and it still worked, so thumbs up there as well. An odd thing - the bulbs stay very dimly lit when turned off, but this is not so bright to be a problem.All in all I am very satisfied, and am considering buying extras as it may be hard to duplicate these if needed down the road.   Read Less
