    People complain about choice of data types that are based on index based arrays that are not comonly used in java but remember it is not your typical code when performance and memory usage takes second priority

    Consider it as an additional exerciseas i said author seems to not be a professional java programmer and some of his code made me smile because of how amateurish it looks but core logic behind the algorithms is rock solid

    Author is more matemathician than a developer and value of the book is in transition of math concepts to java

    As soon as you get the idea of a particular algorithm it is not hard to adopt it to modern day coding standards

    Reading this book will make you think differently and recognize effect of every loop or even simply a method call inside it introduced to the code
