I did have a little trouble setting month year even following directions because you have to press same button to set time hour and minutes month and year on different screens but once it was set up it stays set up so if you dont plan on unplugging which i dont the slight inconvenience of setting it up was worth it to me for the quality of sound sleep timer and display auto brightening and auto dimming depending on lighting in room  Read Less
