Pros & Cons

Pros

One of the clearest perfect sounding mics i have ever auditioned. Great mic for the price. I use this mic to beatbox.

This mic sounds great for my voice which is i think in the baritone range. It really picks up and enhances lower register. Seems very well suited to my vocal style.

The d5 has a excellent spl (sound pressure level) of 149db at 1% thd. Great tone and cuts out any side noise. Sound is crisp and clear.

This thing is a really solid choice if your primary goal is reducing background noise an bounce-pickup in an otherwise sloppy, bouncy, untreated room. It picks up very well at one to six inches.

Similar to sm57 with just a tiny bit more sharper mid. Out does shure sm58 and senn by far. As nice as the sm58 is, i prefer the d5 for both clarity, crispness, and overall sound.

It can sound a bit tinny metally midrange but if you can eq it via a console or if used on the right voice type this can be a pro versus a con
