The mouthpiece stabilizes the instrument, assisting in more accurate *. It can be played with earphones so you can practice at all hours of the day and night. The octave rollers really take some getting used to.

Ewi 5000 is very responsive and fun to play. Ewi 4000 with good synth, like ketron sd 1000, has voices of better quality. Sample modeling excellent natural wind and brass instruments.

Break the saved programs into 4 banks of 25 makes accessing them much easier. Numerous custom settings. It's closest to what the original inventor created.

The * was set to sax. To charge the battery, the battery must be charged. The default * is ewi. And lastly, there is no battery level monitor so you have no idea how low it is.

Ive heard everything from it being low quality corny and even unusable for a performance

I dont know if its just my unit but i have awful problems with the onboard sound output

Still as the electronic wind instrument ewi 5000 is the best controller on the market imho

I shipped it to the akai service center and i had to pay about 70 in shipping

It is fast and easy to be sloppy

Packaging/appearance

Patches load quickly and play flawlessly as they did on the s4000

Michael brecker fixes this by putting a sweat band around the neck of the ewi

Oh that would be nice to have a update on the sounds that are already in the ewi

Competitiveness

Ive even had great success hooking this up to a small korg volca bass unit

If that popcracking problem wasnt bad enough i also get a warbling in the sound that happens randomly like a zippering

Its never been dropped and i keep it in a protec case which is damned near completely shockproof anyways

Its cablefree unless you want a set of bose headphones or vmoda headphones hooked up to it
