As another reviewer mentioned once the bluetooth device you are using to control this goes out of range the lights go into default mode and music stops

You can also run an internet radio app like pandora from your device and open the app to set to a different light pattern

Build quality is ok however i do have an issue with the 100 warm led light strand these lights are always on not affected by the color changing lights the connection to the control module was made in heat shrink tubing and the positive and negative leads arent insulated well from one another

If you bump the strand the lights short out and the box restarts disconnecting bluetooth and reconnecting once it powers back up after 2 seconds and your music light show will have to be restarted

Update the manufacturer sent me a new unit that does not have the above mentioned issue

I think you have to connect it in the exact sequence the instructions detail or it might not seem to work properly just as an fyi

The connector only goes one way for the lights and you can connect and control an additional 3 strings of lights purchased separately of course
