Pros
This humidifier can keep the house at about 35-40% humidity running 100% of the time. Living in the dry southwest u. S. It really puts out a lot of humidity. It has brought the rh up to 50% downstairs and 55% upstairs.

It works reasonably well once you sort the kinks out. My tuner says it's transformed my 43 year old piano, and that i'll get another 10 years out of it, avoiding an $8000 bill for a new tuning block.
The 5 gallon capacity with removable 2 1/2 gallon removable reservoir for refills is a big plus. Now only needing to fill every other day. The hose comes with the unit to fill the tank, which makes it easy to fill.
Cons
Water tank is only 2 1/2 gallons and has to be refilled often. Reservoir capacity small requires frequent fillings. The float is rinky * and doesn't work.
Low fan speed is too noisy to leave it on when we are in the living room. It is noisy on level 1 fan. That fits nothing in a normal house.

I do notice the greatly improved air quality in the whole house
My replacement unit works extremely well is easy to fill is quiet and i am quite pleased with it
Negativesmy first one lasted only a year until the plastic tabs in the tank broke making the filling chamber unable to drain
Bought this two weeks ago and after correctly installing the wick so the float rod made proper contact with the switch
Price
3 nights of sleep at this price was well worth it
I was like if you want something that works spend the money on this
It was a fraction of the cost of whole house furnace models
They were also very expensive and expensive to have installed

It arrived earlier than promised brand new and beautiful packed
Called service depth and she had it up and running perfect in 10 min
A quick call to customer service and they quickly sent a new one
We had an issue with the 1st unit see note below for more info and customer service was very help and quickly got us a replacement part
Packaging/appearance
Came just as pictured very easy to assemble and works great
Competitiveness
Not sure why but it does a much better job than our old whole house lasko humidifier
I have since recommended this to several friends and family members that have bought the smaller ultrasonic ones at like 50100 range
