Pros & Cons
Pros
Worth every penny. That will be reviewed separately.
Thermostat is not accurate but it is consistent and works once you dial in the relative on/off temperature. Fan avoids having to leave the south-facing garage door open for ventilation.
The plastic housing on this fan is more rigid and sturdier than the sheet metal housings on most gable vent fans. Works properly with dampening the motor to stop vibration.
It is powerful and quiet. Still loud, but less with the shim dampeners. Plastic frame is much quieter than metal alternatives. It is a bit louder from the outside.
Low noise, good thermostat, good exhaust rate. Easy to install. Took me 45 minutes to install & hook up.
Cons
Very unhappy with this product, costing almost $100. Absolutely worthless. Amps times 120volts is 368 watts, not 180 as claimed.
Fan blade mounting vibrates and makes an awful racket. Tried jb welding the fan to the center mount. Don't waste your electric or the manpower to install this fan. Adjustment screw-knobs are not reliable.
