The way the rims angle in to protect the bearing edge would do well to teach young players not to play to close to the rims but for more advanced scrapes and crossovers it becomes very easy for the stick to hit the angled surface and fly out of the players hand

Many of the features that are supposed to make this pad better than others end up hindering its usefulness to the intermediateadvanced player
