I get that it is going to be a series which i have already preordered but it just felt like the author chose a random spot and hacked off the ending in order to make a second book

I felt it wasnt a very smooth transition or good place to stop as it didnt really flow with how he told the rest of the stories

It does not end on a cliffhangar which drives me nuts and it could work as a bad ending if there was only one book

I like the different perspectives the story follows in the aftermath of war the difference in the stuggles among victor vanished and innocent become so blurred
