The first part of the book is quite a slow lengthy criminal trial

Then anna calls her from a fancy girls prep school and anna has to see her

But things go from wonderful to terrible in only a few days triggered by an accusation by anna that noah has sexually assaulted her

This story continues at breakneck speed from first page to last rocketing from the trial that renders noah guilty and sends him to prison to maggies efforts to learn the truth about anna and who really killed her if noahs words that he did not are true

Even little caleb plays an important role in the conclusion of the story that brings the realities of some of todays worst actions against women to the fore in riveting fashion

The reason for the 4 stars is because even though i enjoyed this book the ending made no sense as did noahs time in prison
