The adjustment piece stays put. They grab onto the arm and hugs it tightly and doesn't slip off. I use the ones with eye loops for a long period of time and they always ended up dropping glasses as the eye loops became loose after a period of times.

Websight claims the earpieces stretch to 1/2 inch. They are effectively useless.
