It does receive phones that have a slimline case on it though if its something like an otterbox it may not fit and for sure a zerolemon wont fit at all and will need to be taken out of the case to be placed

I used to use a bookbooks to stand my phone when i look at the recipe in the kitchen which was not steady to hold phone tightly so i had to readjustsecure my phone with something to study around the phone

It does my life easier when i cook and my kid watch videos there is no need to hold the phone anymore
