I was always worried about the handle at the beginning but when i finally broke the kettle it was because i boiled all of the water out and when i moved it to a cooler part of the stove it shattered

When it does break it shatters into a million dangerous shards that and the lid is why i gave it 4 and not 5 stars

Its hard to believe but the handle does not get hot even with a full boil

The only reason it doesnt get a 5 start is that the top comes off too easily

Yes it takes a little more effort to care for glass but that goes for every glass item

This kettle is not for someone with a heavy hand and should not be treated like a metal vessel and it will break if its not cared for properly
