P requires mini usb not micro usb so double check you have the right cord for it. Magic is the first word that comes to mind for this product. Plugged it in.
The adafruit 259 is the best single cell li-ion with a jst plug. It has an adjustable charger current via resistors. It also has a through hole 6 volt dc in solder holes.

Nice charger with charge indicators im not sure why they attached a jst connector to the output side and not the wire so that you could just pass through this to a project already with a 3

The status leds are only illuminated while plugged in with micro usb
