Pros & Cons
Pros
This is the only place i have been able to find activated charcoal in pellet form. These are pellets which is a lot less messy and i feel like i don't lose as much out of the filter material itself.
This is the best price i have found for this type of item. That is a deal that cannot be beat. It's perfect if you use a little.
Cons
Several of my fish died within 3 days of adding this to filter my aquarium. This product isn't granulated - it's more like small sticks. Makes the water very hazy.
I'm glad it was cheap and i didn't end up wasting a bunch of money. These are so not worth it! Threw it away. Do not recommend.
Highlights
Quality
These are quality pellots that will fit in almost any mesh bag
Clear chemicals from waste in the water clear chemicals from hard water like chlorine and keep algae from booming
Before this i used the premade build your own filters by tetra and they have like carbon chips i guess you would call them
The pellets are hard and resist breaking down into dust the way others i have tried did
Price
Reasonably priced activated carbon for your aquarium
Plenty for the money and much easier than traditional filters
Prob can fill another 2 times w this vs 60 new vent filter
Large quantity of product for the price
Packaging/appearance
With regular scooping and a sprinkle of charcoal pellets mixed in the boxes smell fresh and sweet
I bought some fine mesh zippered fish filter bags and poured several tablespoons in
Competitiveness
I won’t ever know because as long as this product is available i won’t bother spending a fortune on lomi brand pellets
Ive found that it works better than bio balls or the ceramic rings and costs less than most of the ceramic rings
I don’t think you’d find a better deal if you’re looking for a small amount
