The marty music channel has a lot of beginner acoustic lessons. This book is for any musician, any age, any genre of music. A simple book to understand for beginners.

Casey casey's book teaches you to hold the guitar correctly. It forces you to learn the fretboard without constantly looking at your fretting hand. Excellent for a beginner.
