The arc naturally arcs out so you can just touch the arc itself to the object u need to light this prevents gunk from sticking to the poles which stops the device from working

I ordered a lighter for my husband for christmas and the lighter came fairly quick and we plugged it in to charge and it wouldnt work no matter what we tried
