The only drawback is if you mount it on the left side of the handlebar, you have to pull the lever toward you with your thumb [ very awkward ] instead of the more common push forward with your thumb on the right side.

I replaced one like it that didn't ring well anymore, so durability probably isn't great, but it's cheap.
