Pros & Cons
Pros
Works fine for motorcycle chain breaking and riveting. Key to riveting properly is to know what the proper size to flare the head of the rivet to.
Cons
They charge you to return this hunk of garbage. Cheap, flimsy, gets the job done once. No instructions so you just gotta fiddle with it to make it work.
First thing i noticed is the clamp itself is weak and spread open easily. It dint even leave a mark on it and the tool broke. Couldn't even clamp new chain. Broke the tool itself trying to flare the rivet.
Highlights
Quality
Worked like a charm although it was very easy to over torque the new rivet type links so be aware of that
Easy to use and a good amount of versatility
The catch with this tool and others is you have to grind the rivets off first…it will not survive long if you attempt to break ... Read More
Go super slow and make sure all pieces are seated before tightening
Price
I’ve gotten more jobs out of it than expected and happy with its performance for cost
Angle grinders are very affordable now and if you’re doing your own bike work you want to have one anyway
But then again it is not expensive
The wuality is not the best but for the price you know what you are buying
Shipping
Shipping would have been faster if i didnt select picking the package up at staples

I’ve done 10 chains with this kit at our shop and just started having a problem with the rivet tip itself starting to mushroom out meaning it can get stuck when threading it into the tool

As far as i know the pins for any chain breaker do sometimes break theres a lot of force applied to them
Posted by a reviewer on Amazon
But as the manual says to mushroom a rivet you need to use the thickest pin and to remove a pin on a chain under 530 you need to use the second largest pin for pretty much all motorcycle chains
Posted by a reviewer on Amazon
Anything larger than 530 you need something else to cut off the end of the pin

It was a little unintuitive but i got it figured out easily enough

It isn’t the high end rk tool but it gets the job done
