You have to slide the tensioners up so they line up with the bolts that hold the window glass secure

Bmws are known for chewing thru window regulators so if you plan on owning one long term like i have with my e46 you will run into this repair

These devices are all flawed in that the failure point for most lies within the pulley that the motor goes into and which spools up the metal cable

I think its really important to somehow keep the window from sticking to the top molding when it is rolled up because when you hit the down button if it hangs up that creates problems with slack at the pulley

That is the stress point and every regulator that ive seen suffers from the exact same inferior design

I did read other reviews where others had trouble getting their motor to fit
