Pros
The writing itself is absolutely superb, the engaging plot is portrayed with near perfect pacing. The story is full of twists and turns that keep the reader on edge and waiting to see how it ends. The ending screams that there is more coming.
Great pacing. An eye-catching start of the series. I strongly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys constant surprise and action!
Cons
It never quite makes up its mind if its a ya book or an adult introspection. Garin is supposed to be a boy on the cusp of manhood trying to find his place in the world. By comparison our mc is whiny and incompetent.
