Pros & Cons
Pros
Ken follett's books never disappoints. Follett is a great storyteller.
The detail pulls you in before you know it, and you will find yourself living in the experience. This novel is a great demonstration of this.
The characters are believable. The characters and the plot are developed in a fascinating era and locale. The author has a well-established talent for weaving a gripping tale, based upon intensive and extensive research.
Greed, cunning control and financial struggles for rich and poor. As usual an excellent, well researched novel. I know our civil war history and settling of old west as people moved in wagon trains.
Cons
Follett overwrites and over explains every aspect of the characters as well as the plot.
