Lots of history, intrigue galore and a masterfully told story. The war between the catholics and protestants of the 16th century was much like the current political civil wars. This is his third in the trilogy of england as she developed.
Follett knows human nature and portrays it beautifully. Follett never fails to entertain!
Cons
Adverbs are meaningless when they can be inferred. The writing appears to be on a sixth-grade level. The characterization is one-dimensional and hard to connect with.

I would love to see him grab a different piece of history maybe even a different part of the world such as cleopatra and egyptian lore or maybe the colonies

Its hard for me to imagine a time where people are intolerant of religion that they were willing to kill for their beliefs

Part three of the kingsbridge saga this book leaves that city in the background and instead focuses on the violence and murder between catholics and protestants in 1500’s western europe
