This product is solid as heck. They have really got something special here, you really owe it to yourself to check out. Another nifty feature worth mentioning is when used on/with the mega sg.
D-pad and * feel perfect and just like an original genesis 6 button controller. The d-pad itself has the same non-glossy finish.
Works flawlessly with my sega genesis model 1. The usb cable is 100% fine. Connectivity is flawless. It's practically wired in terms of laglessness.
Concerns about firmware have been remedied. As long as you have a micro ssd around, it's pretty straightforward to update. Outstanding controller after the firmware update.
Cons
Retro receiver doesn't connect well to the system. Receiver is too snug when plugging into the mega sg. Ghz.
My recommendation is to avoid this one. Extremely annoying. Now the downside. Which is hardly ever.

Overall im incredibly impressed with the 8bitdo m30 wireless gamepad
The build quality is also topnotch with a solid and durable feel that will stand up to hours of gameplay
Seems something with the controller itself is broken
This is supposed to work only with the dongle it comes with thus i could only plug it on a sega genesis system

For the price i could not be happier with this controller

I like that they are fast and accurate and work beautifully

I used this on the gen 1 2 and retron hd just fine and from 10 to 20 feet away with no issues
Been using ibuffalo snes wired controllers with my retropie with no complaints
As my first 8bitdo controller i am very disappointed and will be looking elsewhere for retro style controllers

I thought i wanted to be a purist and use all first party wired controllers with extension cables but if all of 8bitdos controllers are this good there is no reason to even bother with any of that anymore

And besides its a hazard having two dogs around regularly going crazy eventually one of my consoles is going to get sent flying across the room by a cable
