Gokhale method is a book about how to sit, stand, lie down, and walk with posture that maximises our spinal and muscular strengths and minimises degenerative harmful positions.

This is probably because locking the knees means you don't have to balance as much. The resulting body architecture/structure provides more space for unimpinged nerve energy and circulation flow.

The book is phenomenal, but the instructor greatly improved my technique and confidence. I find this book supremely well crafted and useful. There are the lessons in the book and then there are tweaks for your personal situation.



Cons

Esther gokhale is a con-person who ripped me off for the cost of the class (expensive) and this book. The physics are just not realistic. Esther has some strong delusions about biomechanics and physics.

It is so amateurish, it's unbelievable. Buy at your peril. But the content is ultimately unhelpful.

If you have low back pain and the x-ray shows a disc 'abnormality', the doctor says, lookee here, your x-rays shows there's a disc problem in your low back.

    I didnt do it completely in isolation also saw a chiropractor a few times for immediate relief and have also been using lumbar support which the book doesnt exactly recommend but i mostly credit my pain free back to the steps particularly the sitting lying and standing advice
