Pros

Teflon wires and metal shields made for simple installation in my gas fireplace. A few caveats for the diy. This uses a thermopile to run the heater's simple electronics.

Cons

Product is a pos. Cannot thread the nut into the housing. This is a low priced item with low quality performance.

Thermopile does not produce enough volts to light the main burner of my hot water heater. Only generates mid 300s vs advertised 750. Actual voltage is 500mv in open circuit, and barely 400mv once connected to the gas valve.

I did need to reuse the original brass nut because mine used a lefthanded thread

It went from a thermopile low voltage to sensor failure in a couple days

Apparently the old thermopile burned out and did not generate enough voltage to open the main gas valve

Namely the correct terminology is that this is a thermopile rather than a thermocouple per se
