I'll admit, I was skeptical about this set. The price point for the number of utensils was hinting in the downward direction, but the other reviews convinced me to risk it. Thank you, other reviewers! You were right!First, BE AWARE OF THIS: the type of utensils I received was like what was shown the rainbow set, even though I purchased the red. So if you're dying for the scraping slotted spoon you may be disappointed. For that reason, I knocked off one star. With that caveat, I can say that these are some of the best cooking utensils I've ever used. Admittedly I'm not a 5-Star chef, but I've been cooking for my family since I was 16, so I have logged a lot of kitchen time over the intervening years. With the non-stick cookware out there, it's really important to have utensils that are safe to use in them, and silicone fits the bill perfectly. I have anodized aluminum pots and skillets, and a ceramic coated grill pan. I needed a set like this. They also clean up wonderfully, which as a manual dishwasher I appreciate.Utensil Breakdown:Basting Brush: It looks like one. I haven't used it yet, but I'm certain it'll be fine.Ladle: Lovely! It's not one of those HUGE ones that'll fill your soup bowl in one go, but it has the ability thanks to the grip of silicone to scrape the bottom of the pan a bit as you go so you can get every drop of goodness out of your pot.Spoonula: What a marvelous little tool! I use this one primarily to cook ground meat, and for those smaller, slippery items where you need to turn them but they just run away giggling at your spatula. With the slight spooniness it has it can hold on to something so you can pick it and flip it.Spoons: They are both fine. They have a nice sturdiness to them so you can stir the thickest stews without a problem, but have a fine enough edge that you can still use them for those finicky stir-fry veggies that have a mind of their own.Spatulas: Both work great for scraping and folding light items, but I haven't tried doing anything with a really heavy dough/batter yet. They are a bit floppier at the edges than plastic spatulas I have used, so I will exercise caution the first time.Turner: I'll admit this is my least favorite of the set. It's not very large, and the silicone here is a disadvantage. When I'm trying to turn a hamburger patty that's gliding on a layer of grease and juices in a non-stick pan with a slick utensil... Let's just say that first burger went to the neighbor's dog, and almost on its own. I have had no end of trouble trying to turn anything that has any slickness of its own. It has worked well for items that don't like to play skillet hockey.Bottom line: There are a few issues here and there that the manufacturer could work on for the future, and you may not get the exact combo the pictures showed you. But they're still very good and I will enjoy using them for a long time. Read Less
