Pros
Squeaky floor is always annoying. This helps prevent squeaking from returning. Took the squeak out of the floors of our nursery extremely well in under an hour of work.
Start with a pilot hole drill. Be careful not to drill too deep for the pilot hole. Knowing the concept of here the brake point should be is all you need to know. Now own a vice grip because of this.
The repair kit has everything but the electric drill. Used this device on carpet and stairs. It includes the tools for carpet, hardwood and linoleum.
Finding the floor joists on a hardwood floor is the hardest part. Once you find the joist, it’s mainly a matter of measuring every 16 inches.
Cons
The kit is well made, that isn't the issue. But here's what happened to me. In reality its *. Total fail. Waste of money.
Joists are 16 inches apart. Used about a dozen of screws, still squeaks. Plastic tool for snapping the screws didn't even improve the squeak.
