    The system kept the mass of food safely below the surface of fhe liquid as the fermenting food expanded and became frothy with escaping co2 even in the couple of jars i mistakenly added more salt water to instead of trusting the recipe and letting the food release just the sufficient amount of liquid they did not overflow liquid out from under the lid or through the airlock

    I did have a couple of the jars where i added too much liquid froth up and expel some of the brine into the airlock i pulled out the airlocks and withdrew a few ounces of brine then used the plugs in the jar lid while i cleaned out and refilled the contaminated airlocks with fresh water then reinstalled and went on

    I still put cabbage leaf on top of my shredded cabbage underneath the cup and followed directions provided
