I had originally gone to cfl to lower our electrical use as incandescents gobble the watts while not producing enough light to compensate they create far too much heat instead

There is no flickering or pulsing that is so common with cfl lights

Also the heat had a tendency especially on higher wattage bulbs like the 150 this one replaces of causing the glue used to hold the glass bulb to the screw base to break down

Simply unscrew the existing bulb and screw in the led

There are a lot of off shore leds coming into the market that do not have certification these can actually be a hazard and since they are not certified for use in north america good luck with your insurance company if something happens

The plastic housing make them feel cheap
