Pros
It's taller than any gel wrist rest i have tried. I believe it supports better positioning of the hands when typing. Less wrist fatigue for me. I personally like the feel of the fabric wrist rests over the gel ones.
This wrist rest comes in handy for writing research papers and the dreaded college application essays.
The 3m foam rest has much less smell than a neoprene wrist rest. The cover is nice, easy to keep clean and antimicrobial. Haven't encountered any of the odor issues mentioned by some other reviewers.
Cons
From the start the foam was attracting debris like some sort of lint catcher in a dryer. The curved design is extremely flawed.

I have had memory foam pads before so when this nonmemory foam pad arrived my first thought was that it was not nearly soft enough and that i didnt find it that comfortable

This wrist rest attracts lint and other small dirt like magnet and thanks to its black color the dirt is very visible
