It does have a small beam and is best to use above one plant maybe 2 if they arent very wide

I am going to be updating this review over time because the biggest problem with grow lamps is they fail too soon or they do not produce the correct light waves for good plant growth

This lamp a bulb i know works and a regular light bulb with three identical basil plants that are the same size and approximate shape

The basil under this lamp is still looking happy the one under the regular bulb is looking slightly droopy

I am going to leave the basil for another week under the regular bulb then take the poor plant and put it under a better bulb

I made the mistake a year or two back of purchasing the wrong type of bulb and then could not find a fixture that would hold it
