It will work with no movement and just be a single light however the real beauty is they react to motion

Only drawbacks are the light only stats on for 10 seconds after mivement stops and that in order to change the settings you have to take down the light and remive the back to get to the switch

This is the first item that ive bought that has the onoff switch screwed behind a plate or isnt immediately accessible so i had to take that off and look at the settings which were clearly set out in the instructions

Especially if you have to install the item somewhere and end up needing to move it or adjusting it after youve put it up to fit your needs

With the motion sensor options the light turns off around 10 seconds of it picking up motion

The light is not too dazzling though that if its near a bedroom window it would wake and blind someone trying to sleep

As i said earlier this is the first solar kit that i have ordered and ive ordered a lot that the switch isnt easily found its hidden behind a plastic plate where the rechargeable batteries are
