I dropped mine about four feet onto concrete no dents the lid did pop off however the lid does fit snugly and should not come off under normal use

Also when you have the sliding lid open it is very nice because i am very happy with the easy to access lid the other ones i have have screw tops on them and when you are driving or holding other items that is impossible to unscrew to be able to take a drink
