The connection to the ear piece seems well designed and near the ear bud it enters a plastic tunnel that should help lengthen the useful life of the unit

They are limited by the in ear design narrowing the sound stage and by necessity reducing the size of the drivers to a size that it is impossible to accurately reproduce the entire sound spectrum
