Our 2008 prht mx-5 has a spoiler on the trunk lid and so weighs a little more. Very easy to install.
The struts hold up the trunklid really well. To remove the old struts just use a small flat blade screwdriver to left the spring clip a little while pulling the strut to get it off the ball mount. Repeat for the new strut. The only tools you will need... Read More
This one practically throws the trunk lid open. The picture i included shows the new on installed with the old on next to it.

Would not recommend. They are too long. Had to return.

After a couple close calls of the lid slamming shut on me it was time to replace the lift support pistons

Should have replaced the original ones years ago

Replacement was straight forward pry back the retaining clip and pop the socket off the ball joint at both ends
