And the pocket only opens on one end making it even more difficult to insert a filter that is too big to begin with

An added benefit of doing it this way is that by placing the filter near the top of the mask it provides a seal and stops exhaled air from coming out the top and fogging up my glasses

The main problem with face masks is most of them including surgical masks pucker up on the side near the ears hence leaving an unprotected area

The tighteners on the ear loops help to cinch it down so that no air enters or escapes through the sides
