I guess you could put the cable in the end rather than through the side but that is not what the instructions say and not what i did

Bought to use on my old yamaha rxv1300 fit perfect arent a tight fit on my kef speakers but didnt buy them for that purpose but the info might help others

If the wire goes in the side the top is free to stack the plugs

Then bent the core slightly so that as i put the two pieces together the core could poke slightly out the side hole

This stopped the core being twisted out of the hole
