Clear adhesive squares are not completely clear, but that is no big deal either. Since it is clear it is not noticeable. The adhesion is really strong and sturdy. Whatever is the actual glue, it works.

The listing says they are easy to remove if put on 'acceptable' surfaces like glass, wood, smooth tile, etc. Our paint is satin so the surface is between flat and semi glossy.

After a few weeks, fell off wall and took paint with it. Tried again and waited about a day to put up the picture - peeled off in under 10 minutes. Unless your walls are metal or maybe glass, don't waist your time.
