Use optional pouring caps for both. Lid isn't the best but it works. The grip on the side and the handle make pouring from it easy and secure.

Glass bottles are far superior to the plastic as packaged by producer. The * are a bit pricey but well worth the savings. This jug has that classic old style look. It holds a half gallon of iced tea, switchel, juice or whatever else i throw in there.

Glass is a great conductor. Milk stays colder in glass and tastes fresher. Keeps juice colder being in glass.

The plastic grab * the top is super handy. Thick and sturdy, and handles boiling water just fine.
