Remove and retain the 4 c clips holding the wrist pins in place prop the gate with a stick and remove the pins working one side then the other

I have a 98 4runnner and my previous ones were giving out to wear when i opened the rear hatch it would sag down and i would have to hold it up with my shoulders to get anything out of the back which got extremely annoying as you can imagine

They not only hold my rear gate open but actually lift it up as if it were brandnew from the factory
