The original gauge had a cardboard insert and warped in the florida sun thus the needle was sticking and failed after six months of use

The hole you cut in this plug is what allows the gauge to adjust for atmospheric pressure so the gauge will not be accurate and will probably not read 0 until you do this

I had an air filled unit and had constant issues with it it actually had a slow leak that i was never able to fix

Just dont forget to use either thread tape or pipe dope and keep it only on the threads dont get any on or in the small hole in the bottom of it
