I think if they reinforced the inner seam or made these with the seam up higher it could be avoided

I love these but as others have noted particles do get caught between the seam and outer stitching which is unfortunate this was when making a blackberry liquor the seeds got caught

Scrubbing with a potato scrubber helped some but there were some particles that would not come out
