A lot of what makes these jorgenson clamps better that the cheapies is the thread the cheapies will likely bind when tightening very frustrating the screw thread gets bound up before the cheapie every clamped the work

Take my advice stay away from those knockoff clamps

If your work piece wont fit in a vise then some kind of clamp should be used for safety

When the clamp is not in use the bolt will then drop flush with the work surface

Its very handy for planing sanding or any other reason you may want to clamp a piece down away from the edge of your bench
